And then came COVID-19… This Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company was suddenly facing challenges that were unpredictable, unthinkable and unheard of. Survival was at stake and, unfortunately, their practices, processes and systems were not ready to weather this storm. They decided that a transformation was inevitable.

Effiqual partnered with this client to expediently implement the required changes and co-create a system that can ride out the crisis, while paving the way towards stabilizing the situation, maintaining growth and sustainability for the long-term. New realities had to be taken into account; remote work, securing employee engagement, ensuring psychological safety, managing the day-to-day operations, etc.

The collaborative effort resulted in maintaining the same level of business in the first year and projecting a ten-percent growth in their current year. The latter was achieved through adjustments, reforms and creation of new practices, processes and systems along three main interdependent axes:

  • Agility: Internal communications models and systems, digital tools for better coordination, and new solutions for decision making and productivity management,
  • Cultural Resilience: Executive coaching to manage continuity and sustainability, behavioral changes to adapt to the new realities, nurturing people’s abilities to self-manage; especially those working from home, and,
  • Digital Transformation: Integrating digital solutions to better engage with clients, innovative business models for new products and services, and developing systems to digitally re-skill people.
